The desperate call of an Italian Olympic star

Italy's swimmers have left their mark on the Olympic Games. This also applies to Lorenzo Zazzeri, who won the silver medal in the 4x100 m freestyle relay. This was the first ever Italian medal win in the 100 m freestyle relay. It goes without saying that Zazzeri and his teammates were extremely happy.

When the 27-year-old swimmer returned from his adventurous trip to Tokyo, he wanted to share his joy straight away and went to the Bellariva swimming pool in Florence, where he showed his colleagues and the young swimmers the silver medal. However, a nasty surprise awaited him later: While Zazzeri was in the swimming pool, thieves broke the window of his car and stole the items inside. “I’m also willing to pay a ransom.” Lorenzo Zazzeri Only: They weren't just any objects, but special souvenirs from Tokyo. “They stole my Olympic memories, including a GoPro and an iPad with the Tokyo videos, as well as all the souvenirs for my family,” Zazzeri later wrote on social media. These angry words were followed by a desperate appeal: “I make an appeal to the thieves: if you are reading this, I ask you to bring back my memories of the Bellariva swimming pool. You can keep anything that is of value to you. I am also willing to pay you a ransom. I am devastated."

These lines caused a stir and were shared countless times by his fans, supporters and the media. We can only hope that the thieves have some insight. By the way, the thieves couldn't embezzle the medal because Zazzeri had it with him. It's hard to imagine what would have happened if the thieves had let this souvenir take away too...
