Fill and Heel strong in final training - The voices

As in the first training session, Bode Miller recorded the best time. The American stopped the timekeeping at 2:06,09 minutes and was once again in top form for the upcoming Olympic downhill on Sunday. Another favorite, the Norwegian Aksel Lund Svindal (+0,66 seconds), took second place.

Peter Fill from Castelrotto, who finished third, was separated from Miller by one second in the end. Like the day before, he ensured the best result for the local athletes.

Immediately behind him in fourth place was Werner Heel from Walten (+1,12), who achieved his best training result in Sochi. Dominik Paris took 18th place (+3,23), while Christof Innerhofer from Puster was eliminated early.

The Italian winter sports association published the first official statements from the athletes immediately after the training trip.

Peter Fill: “Many people also approached today’s training calmly. But that's normal, because no one wants to use up all their energy prematurely. I really like the downhill route here and I'm getting better and better at it. You have to go to work with a lot of courage. I'm already looking forward to tomorrow, Miller will start the race as favorite. But we are right behind and we can't afford to make any mistakes if we want to be at the front."

Dominic Paris: “I felt better today and also rode better compared to the last few days. But I'm still far behind the best and I don't think I'll be able to catch up by tomorrow. Also because Miller will try to be even faster tomorrow. We'll see how it goes."

Christof Innerhofer: “Today I only tested part of the route. But many others did that too. Miller has gone one better, but there is a lot of strategy behind it. I really like the slope and it suits my characteristics well. Tomorrow you just have to do your best and then we’ll see who’s the fastest.”
