Now the next ace has been hit: Adrian Smiseth Sejersted, who at the age of 3 had the season of his life this year, has already left Cortina. The speed specialist announced this on social media on Tuesday. "See you next year. The knee is causing problems, I have to have an operation,” said Sejersted’s message. The knee is the problem The 26-year-old's right knee has been causing problems for a long time, including having to take a long break after the Bormio races. That's why Sejersted traveled to Cortina with concerns. Because the condition of the knee did not improve, the Norwegian finally decided to skip the World Cup, undergo an operation and instead really attack in the Olympic winter. Sejersted's loss is a bitter blow for Norway: after Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, he was the most successful “Moose” in the speed disciplines this year. In the Super-Gs in Val d'Isére and Bormio he reached the World Cup podium for the first time in his career, finishing second and third respectively. That's precisely why Sejerstad would have been a hot candidate for a medal this year, but the best season of his career so far remains uncrowned.
