“Wild Times”: A ski bird of paradise on a wedding course

Resi Stiegler is well known to many ski fans - and not just because she has a remarkable career (over 150 World Cup starts, numerous Olympic and World Cup participations) and an even more impressive comeback quality (despite numerous torn ligaments and broken bones, she is still in business) . Rather, it is due to the fact that the American has acquired the name of a bird of paradise over the years.

“You only have one life to remember,” she once said in an interview. Fittingly, the extremely extroverted daughter of the Austrian Olympic champion Josef Stiegler, for example, often rode in the slalom races with a helmet on which tiger ears made of fabric were glued (see above). Ski ace marries ski ace Stiegler, now 35 years old, hasn't made the big headlines recently in terms of sport. She still mainly competes in the European Cup; she last collected World Cup points in January 2018. But things are going like clockwork in her private life: Stiegler announced on social media that she would be marrying her boyfriend David Ketterer from Germany, who is 8 years her junior.

“I dance the night away celebrating the fact that I get to spend the rest of my life with the love of my life. I couldn't be happier. Wild times,” said Stiegler’s honeyed message. This means that there will be a new dream couple in the ski circus in the future: David Ketterer, who comes from Baden-Württemberg, is also a skier and has already made 28 World Cup appearances in his career. One thing is certain: it won't be a quiet wedding.
