Everything is prepared for the Drei Zinnen Alpine Run - VIDEO

OC boss Gottfried Hofer and his many employees from the ALV Sesto Dolomites, as well as the countless volunteers from the other Sesto clubs, have done everything in the past few months to ensure that everything goes as usual this weekend at the most beautiful mountain run in the world in the heart of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site runs like clockwork. “Our goal is for the athletes to feel at home with us. We become a little more experienced every year - and yet there are always new challenges in the preparation phase. At the moment everything is running like clockwork, every wheel meshes with the other. That's exactly how it should be. We look forward to welcoming the participants and will do our best to be excellent hosts,” promises Gottfried Hofer.

The race has been sold out for two weeks now, with 1000 participants taking part. “I am convinced that we could attract at least twice as many mountain runners to Sexten. But on the one hand, this is not possible because of various requirements of the nature park through which the athletes run. On the other hand, logistically it would be a huge challenge. “After all, a lot more luggage would have to be brought to the Drei Zinnen Hut by helicopter,” explains the OC boss, who would ideally like to take part in the South Tyrol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run himself. But for Gottfried Hofer everything comes together on race day - so starting is out of the question.

Supporting program begins on Friday

The mountain running event in Sexten lasts three days. Starting numbers will be issued on Friday, September 16th from 13 p.m. At the same time, the runners' expo begins with many stands where running products can be purchased. The traditional dumpling party, however, starts at 18 p.m.

On Saturday, September 17th, athletes will be offered a runner's breakfast starting at 5 a.m. for 7 euros so that they can tackle the race with renewed strength. The starting signal for the 10th edition of the South Tyrol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run finally sounds at 19 a.m. The race will be broadcast live on a big screen at Haus Sexten. The popular pasta party begins here at 13.30:15 p.m., which seamlessly flows into the finisher party with the live group “Die Jung Puschtra” from 17 p.m. The winners will be awarded at 21 p.m. and from XNUMX p.m. they will rock at the legendary party with DJ Rodario.

The focus is on youth

The South Tyrol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run stands out from other running events in South Tyrol because it offers a particularly sophisticated children's and youth program. The centerpiece is and remains the Mini Drei Zinnen Alpine Run on Sunday, September 18th. The starting shot for the kids is at 10 a.m. The fastest time is run over various distances from 300 meters for the very little ones (born in 2011 and even younger) to Junior A (born in 1999 and 2000) with a distance of 2800 meters. However, fun should always be the priority.

On Saturday morning (September 17th), children and young people can try their hand at using an air rifle at the shooting range in the Schützenstüberl in Sexten from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The shooting, together with the running time, will then be included in a separate rating for the summer biathlon.
