Christian Hoffmann repeats Ötzi's victory

Former World Cup cross-country skier Christian Hoffmann (AUT) set off on his mountain bike right from the start in Naturns; when he switched to running shoes in Unser Frau, he was around three minutes ahead of his pursuers. On the final ascent on touring skis from Kurzras to the Grawand, Hoffmann managed his lead and reached the finish on the Schnalstal Glacier after 3:18,27 hours. A confident victory with the best time in all three sections. The 44-year-old from Ramsau repeated his Ötzi victory from 2013 on Saturday, but at that time the marathon had to be held on a shortened route due to bad weather. “I'm overjoyed, after 2013 I really wanted to win the Alpine marathon over the entire route, and I succeeded,” explained Christian Hoffmann at the finish.

Picher repeats last year's victory

The women's race was similar: last year's winner Anna Pircher was already in the lead on the bike and didn't let anything take her away on any section. The 4-year-old reached the finish after 19,10:44 hours. “I didn't expect to win because I had only decided to take part in the Ötzi Marathon a month ago. “My worry was that I would collapse halfway,” said the woman from Latscher after she reached the finish line.

Team Intercom with Lisa Rabensteiner, Maria Rabensteiner and Alba De Silvestro won the women's relay. In the men's relay, Hans Peter Obwaller, Luca Cagnati and Philip Götsch from the crazy idea team were unbeatable; the mixed relay was won by the Dorfmanns-Mair team with Fabian Dorfmann, Joachim Mair and Melanie Dorfmann.
