They thanked him for the “numerous positive words and thoughts” and asked that David be “remembered for his joy of life, his energy and with a view of his beloved mountains.”

The families of Hansjörg Auer and Jess Roskelley would keep them in their thoughts. Finally, the parents “asked for your understanding that there will be no further statement from us.” However, there was still no official confirmation of her death as of Friday afternoon three alpinists .

The statement in full:
