Markus Eder in the role of the film star

The best freestylers and freeriders stood in front of the camera for weeks last winter. These include not only Mark Abma, James Heim, Cody Townsend, Sam Anthamatten, Richard Permin, Michelle Parker and Bobby Brown, but also 24-year-old Markus Eder from Luttach. The fruits of their labor can now be admired in cinemas worldwide. The film has been running in Italian theaters since November 4th, and the Fimclub in Bolzano showed it last Friday.

“Days of my Youth” portrays several top freeskiers in breathtaking images and attempts to capture their unbridled passion for skiing. The film was shot at countless locations for over two years. The young freeskiers went to places like Chatter Creek, Cordillera Blanca, Seward and Tordrillo in Alaska, which no one else had ever skied before. For her, sport also became a search for self-knowledge. This is also shown by the clip with Markus Eder as the main actor ( here click).

For the Ahrntaler himself, these were unforgettable impressions: "I was in Canada twice. There were incredible landscapes, unique glaciers and spectacular descents." Eder developed a new passion, as he hinted at the film premiere in Italy: "It was the first time that I was in front of the camera for so long. I really enjoyed the experience."

After filming and taking part in the Olympic Games last winter, the next challenges await Eder. He will compete in the start of the Swatch Freeride World Tour 2015 by The North Face in Chamonix at the end of January. This then takes place over several stages.
