Sarner Power for the South Tyrol Sky Marathon

For Hannes Perkmann, the South Tyrol Ultra Skyrace is no longer new territory. In 2014, the then 21-year-old took eighth place in the middle distance (69 km/3930 m). Three years later, the Sarnen promotion specialist is attacking the marathon distance - and doesn't just want to run for the day's victory. “If possible, I would like to break the course record (4:01.41 hours, editor's note). I'm in good physical shape, but I'm missing a few long-distance races and that's why it's difficult to predict to what extent I'll be able to achieve this goal," explains Hannes Perkmann ten days before the starting signal.

In any case, the 24-year-old from Sarner is really looking forward to his home race. “I can't wait to finish in my home village, just a few hundred meters from my front door. There will certainly be a lot of friends and acquaintances there, which is why the last few meters will be something very special,” beams the youngster, who has worked his way up to become one of the best mountain runners in Italy in recent years.

The starting signal for the South Tyrol Ultra Skyrace (121 km/7554 meters in altitude) takes place on Friday, July 28th at 20 p.m. at Waltherplatz in Bolzano. On Saturday, July 29th, the participants in the two shorter distances set off from the Talferwiesen: the South Tyrol Skyrace (7 km/69) begins at 3930 a.m., half an hour later the South Tyrol Sky Marathon (42,2/ 2863). The first participants are expected in Sarnthein around 11 a.m. The first finishes in Bolzano on the Talferwiesen are scheduled for 13.30:XNUMX p.m.
