Thaler and Dapit won the ultra mountain marathon on Nonsberg

On Sunday August 25, 2019, the eleventh edition of the Maddalene SkyMarathon took place successfully. Two new routes in the program for the first time: the ultra-mountain marathon Maddalene 50K with around 55 km and 3.700 meters of altitude and the Trail Maddalene 30K on a route of 34 km and 2.400 meters of altitude - both with start and finish in Rumo (TN). Eneros Rilling Sebastian from Chile is the runner who traveled the furthest, the youngest participant Amadine Absil, born in 2001, comes from Belgium.

With pleasant temperatures and clear skies, the mountain runners set off from the starting area in Rumo at 6.30 a.m. sharp. Josef Thaler from Ulten (Team Vertikal Ulten) took the lead straight away with Fulvio Dapit (Team La Sportiva) and Roberto Dalla Valle followed by Michele Tavernaro (Team La Sportiva). On the climb to Monte Pin, Dalla Valle and Dapit prevailed ahead of Tavernaro and Thaler. Halfway through the course, after the runners left the spectacular Monte Zoccolo (2.561 m) behind them, Dalla Valle built a two-minute lead over Dapit. Thaler from Ultimo is not in top form and is slowing down. On the Binasia Pass, Dapit is in the lead and is steadily building up his lead over Dalla Valle.

Dapit, who lives in South Tyrol, reached the finish line first with a time of 6:37:53. Shortly afterwards, Dalla Valle crossed the finish line with a time of 6:42:38 and Michele Tavernaro (7:19:50). “A beautiful and technically demanding run with a continuous change of rhythm. A compliment to the organizers for the new route and the impeccable organization,” said Dapit.

For the women, Edeltraud Thaler set the pace right from the start. The runner from the Telmekom team from Lana controlled the race and finished with a time of 8:27:10. Cristiana Follador secured second and third place on the podium with a time of 8:39:18 and Anna Conti (09:24:18 minutes). “This was the first Ultra SkyMarathon for me. A beautiful but extremely difficult mountain marathon,” said Thaler at the end. Bianchi and Bortoluzzi win the first edition of the Maddalene 30K In the Maddalene 30K, Filippo Bianchi (Team Montura Running) won the men's race with a time of 3:36:40 hours. Bianchi immediately took the lead and set the pace. A few minutes later, Simone Costa and Marco De Salvador reached the goal. In the women's race, Lorenza Bortoluzzi from home team Maddalene Sky Team won with a time of 5:12:11. The woman from Nonsberg was still behind South Tyrolean Helga Flora Platzgummer and Luisa Salvadori until after the Binasia Joch, but then increased the pace and took the lead until the finish. Salvadori and Platzgummer shared second and third place on the podium.

Thaler and Dapit won the ultra mountain marathon on Nonsberg

The new edition of the extreme mountain marathon Maddalene 50K on Nonsberg goes to Fulvio Dapit (Team La Sportiva). The South Tyrolean Edeltraud Thaler (Telmekom Team) won the women's event. Filippo Bianchi (Team Montura) and Lorenza Bortoluzzi (Maddalene SkyTeam) won the Maddalene 30K.
