Transalpine Run: Senfter/Tschurtschenthaler are on the verge of overall victory

Irene Senfter and Stefan Tschurtschenthaler from the Dolomiti Superbike team are on the verge of overall victory in the 8th Transalpine Run. On the penultimate stage, Lananerin and the man from Sexten extended their lead in the mixed classification to 37 minutes. The Spanish pursuers, Rodriguez Bustillo and Azpeleta Che Dominguez, crossed the finish line in Niederdorf 25 minutes after the South Tyrolean winners, who completed today's section in 4:46.26 hours.

In the Senior Master category, Peter-Paul Steinhauser and Hermann Schaiter also defended second place in the category ranking of participants with a total age of at least 100 years. Victory went to the Germans Gerald Rüschenpöhler and Jörg Schreiber for the sixth time.

The eighth and final stage takes place tomorrow. It leads from Niederdorf over 33,40 km and 1269 meters in altitude to Sexten, where the Transalpine Run ends for the third time.
