Transalpine Run: Two South Tyrolean overall victories and three podium places

In the men's category, Daniel Jung from Latsch and Helmut Schiessl from Buchenberg im Allgäu won confidently with three wins and four second places with a total time of 27:13.14 hours. On the final stage from Sarnthein over 36,40 km / 1934 m to the bishop's city they came second.

“After a third and a second place in the last two years, this is one of the best victories ever,” says Daniel Jung. “We fought hard, the fans were great and the track was great. All of this makes us really proud, even though "We suffered extremely on the last stage." It was precisely on the route from Sarnthein to Brixen that things got tight again for the overall winners, because the overall runners-up (+6.38), Ivan Paulmichl (Laatsch) and Michael Kabicher (Mondsee), crossed the finish line first and achieved a whopping 7.41 minutes on Jung and Shoot up. "It was very exciting, but under normal circumstances you can't make up for 14 minutes," says an extremely satisfied Ivan Paulmichl. "We wanted to win another stage at the end and we succeeded." In the past two years, Laatscher has been second and third once together with Daniel Jung.

Fifth overall victory for Irene Senfter Irene Senfter (Lana) celebrated her fifth overall Transalpine Run victory. In the Master Mixed category she climbed to the top podium for the first time together with Steinegger Jens Lord Kramer (Steinegg). The South Tyrolean duo completed the Alpine crossing with three wins in 34:44.26 hours and with a lead of almost half an hour over the Germans Eva Farbenböck and Bode Mathis. Maria Kemenater and Franz Kröss from Sarntal took third place. “We shared joys and sorrows throughout these days,” says a happy Irene Senfter. “The collaboration with Jens worked brilliantly, it was a wonderful week in which you could switch off from everyday life.” For Jens Kramer, however, it was the first victory: "It's a dream come true for me, I always wanted to put on the leader's jersey," says the father of two, who is due to his achievements at the Highland Games (Scottish Games). bears the title of Lord in his name. In the Senior Master category, Josef Blasinger and Martin Mair took an excellent third place overall.
