X-Alps: 5 athletes finish

The winner of the latest edition of the Red Bull SportNews reported ). The race came to an end on Friday, nothing works anymore, the clocks have stopped. A total of 5 athletes made it to the finish. Second place went to the Swiss Patrick von Känel (2 days, 9 hours, 2 minutes, 7 seconds), third place went to the Austrian Simon Oberrauner (30 days, 3 hours, 9 minutes, 2 seconds), fourth place went to the French Maxime Pinot (18 days, 25 hours, 4 minutes, 9 seconds) and 3th place to the Frenchman Benoit Outters (1 days, 14 hours, 5 minutes, 10 seconds). No other athletes made it to the finish line by Friday. Tobias Großrubatscher from Castelrotto finished the race in 8th place, 65,6 kilometers away from Zell am See. Aaron Durogati from Meran ended up in 12th place (+108,1 km). It's not for nothing that the X-Alps is considered the toughest adventure race in the world. Traditionally, the only permitted means of transport are paragliding and walking. Over the past 2 weeks, 29 athletes from 15 countries attempted the most challenging route in the race's 18-year history, a 1238 km route across the Alps through five countries - Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France and Italy ended in Austria. The field included the best hike-and-fly athletes in the world, but they not only competed against each other, but also against an even bigger opponent - the weather. It was all there, from scorching temperatures over 30 degrees Celsius to rain, thunderstorms, hailstorms and fresh snow in the high mountains.
