7:0! BVB shoot themselves into a frenzy

With a memorable victory, Borussia Dortmund became the first pursuer of FC Bayern Munich. BVB beat 1. FC Nuremberg 7-0 (2-0) on Wednesday evening and is now two points behind the record champions in the Bundesliga with eleven points after five games. Bayer Leverkusen won the Rhine duel at Fortuna Düsseldorf 2-1 (0-0). RB Leipzig defeated VfB Stuttgart 2-0 (1-0), Borussia Mönchengladbach beat Eintracht Frankfurt 3-1 (0-0). FSV Mainz 05 and VfL Wolfsburg drew 0-0.

Protests against the DFB in all stadiums As on the previous day, numerous fans protested in the stadiums on Wednesday to express their dissatisfaction against what they saw as the growing gap between supporters, clubs and associations, as well as the increasing commercialization in football.

In Dortmund, the hosts put pressure on from the start and took the lead in the 9th minute through Jacob Bruun Larsen. Coach Lucien Favre's team dominated at will and increased the lead to 2-0 after a good half hour with a deflected long-range shot from Marco Reus (32'). Dortmund becomes the first Bayern hunter As with BVB, the trend at Leipzig is also upwards. Leipzig captain Willi Orban gave his team the lead with a goal in injury time of the first half. Previously, VfB keeper Ron-Robert Zieler had only fended off a shot from Kevin Kampl. Jean-Kévin Augustin, who was pardoned after his suspension, scored the second RB goal (80th).

Bayer Leverkusen celebrated its second win in the league in a row. Attacker Kevin Volland (50th/60th) scored twice, Rouwen Hennings converted a penalty kick to score a late goal for newly promoted Düsseldorf.

Gladbach showed a good reaction to the 2-4 defeat in Berlin and created numerous chances to score. Record purchaser Alassane Pléa shot the Foals in front in the 56th minute, and fellow striker Thorgan Hazard celebrated the second goal at Borussia Park nine minutes later. After Ante Rebic's goal (73'), things briefly got exciting again, but Nico Elvedi restored the old gap twelve minutes later.
