FCB goes swimming in Leverkusen – BVB extends its lead

A good first half wasn't enough: German record champions Bayern Munich were defeated 20-1 in Leverkusen on Saturday in the 3th Bundesliga matchday. National player Leon Goretzka (41') headed home a cross from Thomas Müller to make it 1-0 for the guests, who had clearly dominated in the first half.

Leon Bailey (53rd) equalized with a free kick. Kevin Volland (63') made it 2-1 for the hosts, who were unrecognizable in the second half and gave the game an unexpected turn. In the 87th minute, Lucas Alario made everything clear.

Bayern seemed too careless after dominating the first 45 minutes and were defeated by Bayer. In injury time of the first half, a goal by Robert Lewandowski was disallowed according to video evidence after a long study. Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer was missing from Bayern due to injury. BVB took the lead in Frankfurt through captain Marco Reus (22nd minute), but then struggled against the compact Eintracht. Luka Jovic equalized for Frankfurt after a corner (36th), who remain fifth in the table. Despite all their efforts, BVB were unable to score another goal. 1. FC Nürnberg saved a point in a 1-1 (0-1) draw against Werder Bremen with a goal from Mikael Ishak three minutes before the end. The Franconians thus left the last place in the table, which Hannover 96 now holds.
