Schalke squanders a 2-0 lead against brave Cologne – Augsburg celebrates

Schalke 04 lost important points in the fight for runner-up in the Cologne water battle, and despite a committed performance, 1. FC Köln's last hope of staying in the league has probably died. The teams tied 31-2 (2-2) at the end of the 1st matchday of the Bundesliga. Augsburg had previously secured relegation against Mainz.
