Bayern take revenge on Hoeneß

The Munich team beat TSG 4 Hoffenheim 1-2 (1-1899) on Saturday and initially extended their lead over RB Leipzig, who hosted Bayer Leverkusen in the evening, to ten points. After three league games without a win, Borussia Dortmund once again achieved success with a 3-1 (1-1) win against FC Augsburg. FC Schalke, bottom of the table, conceded 1-1 (1-0) at Werder Bremen after a strong first half and missed out on their second win of the season. Pal Dardai's comeback as head coach at Hertha BSC ended with a 1:3 (0:0) at Eintracht Frankfurt, Borussia Mönchengladbach secured a 1:1 (0:1) at 1. FC Union Berlin.

Bayern took revenge against Hoffenheim for their 1-4 defeat in the first half of the season and now beat TSG with the same result. Jérôme Boateng gave the hosts the lead (32nd minute). Thomas Müller increased the score (43'), and Hoffenheim's Andrej Kramaric made it 1-2 (44'). After the break, Robert Lewandowski (57th) and Serge Gnabry (63rd) made everything clear.

Vice-champion Dortmund initially had a bit more difficulty, climbing to fifth place at least until Sunday. André Hahn gave Augsburg the lead (10th), BVB striker Erling Haaland shot a hand penalty onto the crossbar (21st). BVB managed to get a deserved equalizer through Thomas Delaney (26th), Jadon Sancho (63rd) and Felix Uduokhai with an own goal (75th), making BVB's first win in three weeks perfect.

Dardai rebuilt the Berlin team in numerous positions and relied on Rune Jarstein in goal instead of Alexander Schwolow. Nevertheless, Hertha remained without a win in the fifth league game in a row. Berlin's Krzysztof Piatek took the lead (66th), André Silva (67th and 90th + 5/foul penalty) and Martin Hinteregger (85th) turned the game around. Schalke convinced Schalke missed their second win of the season in Bremen despite the late substitution of returnee Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. Omar Mascarell took the deserved lead (38th), Kevin Möhwald scored to make it 1-1 (77th). A late goal by Maximilian Eggestein (90+4) did not count because of offside. This means that coach Christian Gross's Schalke team remains bottom of the table, two points behind 17th Mainz.

Borussia Mönchengladbach remained undefeated in their sixth Bundesliga game in a row. Robin Knoche scored with a header from a free kick (31st) for Union, Alassane Pléa (59th) equalized for Borussia, who in seventh place are three points ahead of Berlin. Leipzig distances Leverkusen RB Leipzig scored three big points in the race for the Champions League places and distanced their pursuers Bayer Leverkusen in the evening game. In a competitive Bundesliga top game, the more efficient Saxons defeated the Werkself 1-0 (0-0).
