Bayern stars thank Robben: “Always in our hearts”

The winning goal in the 2013 Champions League final was “a moment for eternity from a player who will always remain in our hearts. “Thank you for everything,” Thomas Müller once again acknowledged Robben’s most important Bayern goal and his great career on Friday. The 35-year-old announced his retirement on Thursday after almost two decades.

His long-time teammate Franck Ribéry (36) has not yet announced his plans for the future. The Frenchman had announced that he definitely wanted to continue his career. Both will definitely come back to Munich, because there will be a farewell game for the two stars next year.

Ribery: “I will never forget the time we spent together” “It was a nice and successful time together with him at Bayern. I'll never forget that. I'm very sorry that he's quitting. “I’m sad,” Ribéry said on Sky TV. “But it is a decision that only he can make and you have to respect that. You must never forget what Arjen has achieved in his career.”

“Thank you for everything you have done for the club,” was Serge Gnabry’s message to Robben. "Is it already that late? Thank you for everything,” Leon Goretzka wrote on a social network. With the words “It was an honor,” former Bayern star Bastian Schweinsteiger posted a photo of himself and the Dutchman on Twitter. “Thank you very much and all the best for the future.”

“It was such a pleasure playing with you, my friend,” Austrian David Alaba wrote in English. "I'm sad to hear that you're leaving the big stage now, but I'm very proud to have not only witnessed but also been a teammate of one of the best wingers of this millennium."
