FC Bayern is coming to South Tyrol

There have been rumors behind the scenes for weeks: Will FC Bayern Munich come to South Tyrol for a guest appearance? Now it's actually fixed! The German record champions have agreed.

Bayern Munich visits a fan club every year as part of the so-called “dream game”. This initiative was last suspended for three years due to the pandemic, but this summer it's that time again: the football stars from Munich will compete on the pitch with their own fans - and in South Tyrol too. The fan club “Die Weinbeisser Kaltern” was awarded the contract.

The Bayern fans from Überetsch, representing the whole of South Tyrol with its 37 fan clubs and more than 7000 members, applied to host the guest game. When exactly this will take place is still unclear. What is certain, however, is that the German record champions and multiple Champions League winners will be meeting in Kaltern in the coming months.

“We are really looking forward to this guest appearance in South Tyrol.” Bayern board chairman Oliver Kahn

“The 'Weinbeisser Kaltern' say about themselves that they are a fan club with bite. We really like that,” said Bayern legend and CEO Oliver Kahn, quoted by the club, “We are really looking forward to this guest appearance in South Tyrol. It’s nice that we can revive this tradition again after the Corona-related break.”

The game is played in Altenburg

The game will be played between the South Tyroleans and coach Thomas Tuchel's star squad in the Altenburg sports zone. The “Weinbeisser”, which was founded as a fan club in 2007 and now has 350 members, will provide a broad supporting program with festive activities.
