Escape through the window

Although play has already begun in many European football leagues, kickers are still switching to other clubs and causing discontent and anger. Our columnist Sigi Heinrich therefore advocates closing the transfer window at the start of the first match day.

The transfer window is the period of time during which, in many countries, players can leave their clubs to move elsewhere, usually under improved conditions. In most cases, these windows are still wide open until the end of August, regardless of the fact that the league games have long since started at this point. Anger is programmed, as is often the case when the window is open when a sudden and unexpected storm rages.
