At the age of 63: The spectacular comeback of Edi “the cat” Sanin

It was a memorable evening: the 5th matchday of the district league (7th league/to be compared with South Tyrol's 1st amateur league) took place in Heeslingen in Lower Saxony between Bremen and Hamburg (Germany). Newcomer TSV Achim was a guest.

The Achim team had to cope with the harsh wind in the new league in the first 4 games: there were 4 defeats, some of them clear. So far nothing special. Only when the teams ran onto the field did some spectators rub their eyes. The general tenor: The Achim goalkeeper is showing his age a little. Many people asked themselves: Who is this goalie and how old is he? The answer: It was the former Tramin goalkeeper Edmund “Edi” Sanin who stood between the posts. Age: A tender 63 years. S+ met the Unterlander for an interview.
