Out of Cologne, into Mainz: “Curious situation”

Bundesliga club FSV Mainz 05 has hired Achim Beierlorzer as their new coach. Nine days after his dismissal from league rivals 1. FC Köln, the 51-year-old succeeds Sandro Schwarz in Mainz. The club icon was released after the 2-3 defeat against Union Berlin.
