Schalke separates from main sponsor Gazprom

The German second division soccer team Schalke 04 is separating from its controversial main sponsor Gazprom in the wake of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The board of directors decided on this with the approval of the supervisory board, the Gelsenkirchen-based company announced on Monday. This means a tough break for Schalke.
