Borussia Dortmund: Fewer goals conceded – but still not 1st place!

Thanks to the signing of national defenders Niklas Süle and Nico Schlotterbeck, Borussia gains stability in defense and shortens the gap to Bayern. But the great longing for a championship title remains unfulfilled this time too.

Bayern Leverkusen: Schick becomes top scorer!

Last year he was already number two behind Robert Lewandowski and ahead of the long-injured Erling Haaland. Patrik Schick himself was out for some time. There were 24 goals in 27 appearances. Now Lewandowski and Haaland are gone, Schick is in top form and Bayer continues to play offensively - that's what the top scorers have to give.

RB Leipzig: Silva and Werner become the Bundesliga dream duo!

The DFB Cup winner is shaking up the opposing defenses with the dream duo André Silva and Timo Werner (transfer still pending) and Christopher Nkunku swirling behind them. There are suddenly problems only in defensive behavior. And that's why the first championship title won't happen again.

1. FC Union Berlin: Union is taking a break from Europe!

After two years of European football, the Köpenick team won't make it this season. The change in the squad is successful again, but the competition is too great. The Iron Men still have nothing to do with relegation and remain number one in the capital.

Sc freiburg: European Cup again in Breisgau!

1. FC Cologne: FC crashes, but doesn't get relegated!

Many people in Cologne still think of the last European Cup season with horror. Not only did FC survive the preliminary round of the Europa League, they also crashed completely in the league. And after a really bad first half of the season and an only slightly better second half of the season, they had to go to the 2nd league. FC is too strong for that this time, but it won't be able to hold its own in the European Cup regions.

FSV Mainz 05: The relegation battle is not an issue!

The Rheinhessen are consolidating in the lower middle of the table. Coach Bo Svensson's team has nothing to do with the relegation battle in this round either. There is still not enough class to make a jump to the top.

TSG Hoffenheim: Europe remains just a dream again!

Borussia Monchengladbach: Guesswork also with the new trainer!

In the year of the announced transition, any placement better than tenth place would be a success. New coach Daniel Farke is well received, but the team needs time to find the rhythm!

Eintracht Frankfurt: DFB returnee Götze thrilled!

FC Augsburg: No relegation battle under Maaßen!

VfB Stuttgart: Job guarantee for Matarazzo!

Although VfB had to worry about staying in the league until the end of last season, sports director Sven Mislintat did not allow any discussion about the coach. And it will stay that way. Stuttgart's former ejection seat is stable.

Hertha BSC: Black also has a hard time on the Spree!

New coach, new president, old sorrows. Hertha BSC will also have a regular place in the lower regions of the table this season. Coach Sandro Schwarz has to create a team structure - his predecessors failed at this task. But the former Mainz player can be trusted to do that.

FC Schalke 04: Schalke remains first class!

Despite all the fans' euphoria about the quick return to the Bundesliga, the Revierclub is facing a difficult season. But there is a happy ending in the fight to stay in the class for the team, which has so far been strengthened with an impressive eleven newcomers.

Werder Bremen: The ex-master is now one of the little ones!

The four-time German champion and former Champions League regular is now just a small fish in the Bundesliga. If Werder and SC Freiburg want to bring in the same player, Bremen no longer have a chance. Nevertheless, they will keep the class because the Bundesliga returnees Werder in 2022 are stronger than the Bundesliga relegated Werder in 2021.
