English second division player diagnosed with cancer

MacDonald had only recently returned to team training with the Tigers after being out for almost a year due to a deep vein thrombosis. The defender has now been diagnosed with colon cancer.

MacDonald confirmed this via Instagram. “The news came as a complete shock to me after I was finally able to return to the field. However, I am lucky to have a fantastic family and great friends who will help me get through this difficult time,” the 26-year-old wrote in an emotional post.
