A real lion on the Innsbruck bench

The German Daniel Bierofka will succeed Thomas Grumser, who will remain with the club in a different role. The 41-year-old Bierofka was most recently coach of the German third division club 2019 Munich until the beginning of November 1860, and now he is trying his hand abroad for the first time.

He played 146 times in the German upper house and played three times for the German national team.

The son of 1860 Munich veteran Wilhelm Bierofka has an assistant coach in Tyrol, Philipp Heinzer, who most recently worked in the youth team at FC St. Gallen. The 45-year-old ex-Tyrol goalkeeper Szabolcs Safar - who most recently worked in the Vienna Austria youth team - was hired as goalkeeper coach. Will the season be canceled? A decision will be made at the club conference on Monday as to whether the currently interrupted 2nd league season will be completed. If so, Grumser would continue his activity until the end of the season. The Innsbruck team are currently third, 15 points behind leaders SV Ried. He will then remain with the club. “I already have an idea floating around in my head,” said Hörtnagl. In any case, the decision about further collaboration rests with Grumser.
