End of an era: Busquets leaves Barcelona

Sergio Busquets will leave FC Barcelona at the end of the season. The Catalans announced this on Wednesday.

The former Spanish international footballer came to Barca as a 2005-year-old in 16 and made his professional debut in 2008. With Barca, the current captain won, among other things, the Champions League three times, the championship eight times, the Cup seven times and the Club World Cup three times. The ninth championship title is ready to be picked up with five rounds to go with a 13-point lead.

Together with Lionel Messi, Xavi and Andres Iniesta, Busquets was part of the team that dominated European club football for years. He played over 700 competitive games for the LaLiga league leaders and is the record holder with 48 “Clasico” appearances. Busquets also became world champion with Spain in 2010 and European champion in 2012.
