Who will inherit Cristiano Ronaldo at Real?

Successful coach Zinédine Zidane has left Real Madrid after three Champions League victories in a row, world footballer Cristiano Ronaldo is moving to Juventus Turin for a transfer fee of 112 million euros. The Spanish record champions are about to enter a new era. But what will this look like? Which star will the Royals rely on after the departure of their success guarantor Ronaldo?

Nobody in Madrid knows the answer to these questions. This is particularly true for Mbappé, who will be in the World Cup final with France on Sunday. According to Spanish media reports, Neymar could be due a transfer fee in the region of 250 to 300 million euros.

The Brazilian would also have to put pressure on PSG to let him go. “Such a transfer requires aggressive moves and is only possible at the end of August, shortly before the transfer market closes,” says the Madrid newspaper “El Mundo”. Eye on Hazard – No interest in Lewandowski Since neither Mbappé nor Neymar will probably be available, the Madrilenians are also said to be keeping an eye on the Belgian Eden Hazard. Such a “Plan B” would have the advantage of being significantly cheaper. The newspaper believes that Chelsea FC might sell the 27-year-old, who played a brilliant World Cup, for less than 100 million euros.

However, the fact that his position in the attacking midfield at Real is already well occupied by national players Isco and Marco Asensio speaks against signing the Belgian. There is currently no longer any talk of the Madrilenians being interested in FC Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski in Spain. Or no new superstar at all? It cannot be completely ruled out that Real boss Florentino Pérez will not sign any new superstars this summer. Zidane's successor, Julen Lopetegui, had shown as coach of the Spanish U21 team and the national team that he can form successful teams out of young talent. The coach seems determined to make the 26-year-old Isco and the 22-year-old Asensio important pillars of the new Real team.

Gareth Bale could also take on a more important role after Ronaldo's departure. The Welshman moved to Real five years ago for a then record transfer fee of 94 million euros, but was never able to step out of CR7's shadow in Madrid. The 28-year-old had complained that he wasn't used often enough at Real. Bale now has a new opportunity, but he will only be able to take advantage of it if, unlike in previous years, he is not repeatedly set back by injuries.
