A setback for Inter

Inter suffered a bitter setback in the fight for second place in Serie A.

The Champions League finalists were beaten 1-3 by champions Napoli on Sunday and are still three points behind Juventus in fourth place. The “Old Lady” plays at Empoli on Monday. After that there are two more games scheduled. It was a special triumph for Napoli, as they were able to defeat all 19 Serie A opponents in one season for the first time.

Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa (67th), Giovanni di Lorenzo (85th) and Gianluca Gaetano (94th) made the decision late. Inter striker Romelu Lukaku (82') had equalized in the meantime, even though he was outnumbered, after Roberto Gagliardini was shown a yellow-red card (41') following a foul.

Lazio narrowly wins

For Lazio, Ciro Immobile (61st) scored the only goal in the 1-0 triumph over Udinese with a converted penalty. The Romans moved past Inter by two points. The top four place, which entitles them to start in the Champions League, is well secured with a lead of four points over fifth-placed AC Milan.
