“He betrayed us”: Mourinho attacks his own player

After the 0-1 defeat in the city derby against Lazio, Roma were looking for redemption against Sassuolo. When Tammy Abraham scored the capital team's 80-1 lead in the 0th minute, the plan seemed to be working. But then Andrea Pinamonti from Nonsberg made it 1-1 with his third goal of the season, and it stayed that way until the end. But the big show only came afterwards, because Roma coach José Mourinho burst his collar in a TV interview.

“I sent 16 players onto the field today and one of them betrayed us. I won't tell you who, but I told him to look for a new team in January, even though I know that won't happen," the Portuguese coach says in anger. “Roma played well and wanted to win. But I'm sorry that this entire team effort was betrayed by a single player. He displayed an unprofessional demeanor. I went into the dressing room after the game and said that in front of the entire team.”

Even though Mourinho didn't mention a name, it quickly became clear to experts: it was Rick Karsdorp. He came on as a substitute in the second half, "but couldn't get into the game, lost the duels, missed the crosses and defended poorly," he writes Sports Courier. In addition, he didn't look the best when conceding a goal. Mourinho had already criticized the Dutchman's attitude in the past. It remains to be seen what the future of Karsdorp looks like.
