Krzysztof Piatek scored a penalty in the 17th minute to make it 1-1 after being fouled by Sampdoria goalie Emil Audero. With his 10th goal of the season, the Pole pushed Juve's Cristiano Ronaldo off the top of the top scorer list.
It remained 1-1 until the final whistle. The home team had the better chances, but they didn't want to score another goal. This leaves Sampdoria in 12th place, one point ahead of their city rivals.
