Inter wins spectacular derby

In a derby full of highlights, Inter beat Milan 3-2 on Sunday evening and thus overtook their city rivals in the table.

Inter quickly took the lead through Matías Vecino (3rd) and remained the better team in the first half. Milan had a hard time dealing with Inter's midfield pressing and allowed themselves some uncertainty.

In the second half, the spectators at San Siro were to see a memorable derby. In the 51st minute, Stefan de Vrij (51st) made an exemplary header from eleven meters after a short corner and a cross to make it 2-0. Then the game really took off. Milan's Tiemoue Bakayoko reduced the score to 57-1 after 2 minutes with a header from Hakan Calhanoglu's free-kick cross.

After a penalty converted by Lautaro Martinez (67') to make it 3-1, Milan almost immediately shortened the lead through Mateo Musacchio (71'). Milan put a lot of pressure on again and pushed for the 3:3. The “Nerazzurri” found themselves in a defensive battle. But it was no longer enough for the “Rossoneri” to equalize. In third place, Inter is now two points ahead of Milan, second place Napoli is seven points ahead of Inter and is still well ahead of the major clubs from the Italian north.

Inter wins spectacular derby

Five goals, a sending off that wasn't one, video evidence and tension until the end: the 170th Milan derby in Serie A history was tough and ended with a narrow Inter victory.
