Juventus and Milan: one embarrassment follows the next

The Juventus fans are currently going through very difficult times. With the 15 penalty points, the Old Lady can take a top spot in this year's Serie A season. And then the situation on the pitch is really precarious. On Sunday there was a 0-2 defeat against Monza in front of their home crowd. This means that Juventus is not only without a win for three games, but is also slipping further down the table.

Two goals in the first half at the Allianz Stadium were enough for Monza to retain the upper hand in the second championship duel with Juventus. In the first leg, the newcomer and Silvio Berlusconi club won 1-0. Patrick Ciurria, who used to play for FC Südtirol, took the lead for Monza. Dany Mota made it 2-0 shortly before half-time. In the second half nothing changed in the score – and whistles rained down from the stands.

Milan poses a mystery Milan finds itself in a similarly worrying situation. The reigning Serie A champions went against Sassuolo, 16th in the table. the league, with 2:5 under. This meant that the Milanese suffered their second major defeat in a row, as they lost 0-4 to Lazio last week.

Of the five games since the beginning of the year, Milan only won one, otherwise there were two draws and two defeats. The Rossoneri now even risk falling out of the Champions League ranks.
