No winner in the Milan derby – Napoli also stumbles

After the Neapolitans couldn't get more than a 1-1 draw at home against Hellas Verona, Milan was able to take sole lead in the table in the evening game against Inter. But the Rossoneri also played 1-1 in the Derby della Madonnina and remain level on points with Napoli at the top. Inter, on the other hand, is lurking in third place, 7 points behind.

The Milan derby was very lively, especially in the first half. Of all people, Hakan Calhanoglu (he moved from Milan to Inter in the summer) gave the reigning champions the lead after a penalty. He then provoked the Milan fans with his celebration. But Inter's joy didn't last long: after a Tonali free kick, Inter defender Stefan de Vrij headed the ball into his own goal to make it 1-1. After almost half an hour, Lautaro Martinez failed with a penalty kick from Milan goalkeeper Ciprian Tatarusanu.

The second half was relatively uneventful compared to the first 45 minutes. In the final phase, Milan were really on the move again and could have won the game. But substitute Alexis Saelemakers failed to hit the post.
