Milan clubs punish Romans

Milan clearly won the city duel with Rome in Serie A. At the same time, Milan and Inter collected important points in the Champions League race.

Milan celebrated a 17-29 home win over Lazio on Saturday with goals from Ismael Bennacer (2th) and Theo Hernandez (0th). A little later, Inter also won 33-74 against Roma at the Olimpico thanks to Federico Dimarco (2') and Romelu Lukaku (0').

Inter defended fourth place and is still two points ahead of their city rivals, who the Nerazzurri will face in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final on Wednesday.

Roma are five points behind Inter in seventh place with four rounds to go and only have a small chance of qualifying for the next edition of the Champions League via the championship. Lazio is still second, but is only three points ahead of fifth-placed AC Milan and therefore has to worry about a place in the premier class.

Immediately behind the Romans, Juventus is in third place. The Turin team will face Atalanta in Sunday's top game at 12.45 p.m. The newly crowned champions Napoli, on the other hand, welcome Fiorentina at 18 p.m.

Saturday's results:

Milan – Lazio 2-0
Goals: 1-0 Ismael Bennacer (17th), 2-0 Theo Hernandez (29th)

Roma – Inter 0:2
Goals: 0:1 Federico Dimarco (33rd), 0:2 Romelu Lukaku (74th)
