Juventus celebrates late – Monza shocks Inter

Udinese managed to put a stop to Juventus' dominance for a long time on Saturday evening. The Friulians defended well and goalkeeper Marco Silvestri excelled against Moise Kean, Angel Di Maria and Co. But the game changed with the substitution of Federica Chiesa, who skilfully set up Danilo's 1-0 and secured Juve's eighth win in a row. Later in the evening, Inter faced Monza and were punished late when their opponents equalized 2-2.

Juventus had a difficult time against the rebellious Udinese in the first half. Both teams played with a 3-5-2 formation and mostly neutralized each other, both on the flanks and in the center. Angel Di Maria, who stood on the pitch with a lot of self-confidence after winning the World Cup, was particularly active for the “Old Lady”. But whatever Max Allegri's men tried was thwarted by Marco Silvestri in the visitors' goal, who made two excellent saves against Daniele Rugani and Moise Kean. It went into the break goalless.

In the second period, the Turin team continued where they left off and again had good scoring opportunities through Kean and Adrien Rabiot. Filip Kostic was also denied by the strong Silvestri from a few meters after he decided against a pass to Kean and instead went for his own shot. But there was initially a lack of effectiveness. Only the big-caliber substitutes Arkadiusz Milik and Federico Chiesa brought the desired effect. The 25-year-old Chiesa played a key role in the hard-fought 1-0 win as he delivered a magical pass to goalscorer Danilo, giving the “Old Lady” their eighth win in a row.

Juventus overtook Milan in the Serie A table and is now Napoli's first pursuer. The leaders will face Sampdoria tomorrow, Sunday (18.00 p.m.), but next weekend (Friday 20.45:XNUMX p.m.) Juventus and the Neapolitans will meet in the absolute top game in Serie A. The “Old Lady” is currently only four points behind Napoli.

Caldirola spoils the Inter game Later in the evening, Inter were challenged at Monza and fell on their face after a late equalizer from Luca Caldirola (90+3). And that's deserved, because both teams didn't give each other anything away throughout the game. And yet after just ten minutes the bell rang in the promoted team's goal. After a cross from Alessandro Bastoni, the Monza defense was completely asleep and Matteo Darmian slotted in undisturbed to take the lead 1-0. But the home team couldn't be outplayed that easily. Just a minute later, Patrick Ciurria suddenly got hold of the ball in the Inter penalty area and skillfully flicked it into the left corner to equalize.

Again the answer came just a little later. Monza adjusted the play equipment back and forth in front of their own goal, but then Pablo Mari had a total failure and let Lautaro Martinez take the ball right in front of his goalkeeper. The star striker didn't miss such a gift and made it 2-1. As a result, the game slowed down. Inter tried to manage the lead, but Monza's efforts were rewarded in stoppage time. Ex-Inter player Luca Caldirola headed a cross past Andre Onana to make it 2-2, straight into the hearts of the Inter fans. Monza then had two great chances, but the score remained a draw.
