Napoli sweeps Roma off the pitch in the special jersey

On Sunday evening, Napoli once again commemorated their late club icon Diego Maradona in special “Argentinean” jerseys. This apparently also had a positive effect on the team. Gattuso's troops sent AS Roma home 4-0 in the Derby del Sole. This means that the capital city team missed out on climbing up to second place in the table. Instead, the Romans are now in 2th place behind the Neapolitans, who have the same points.

Before the game, captain Lorenzo Insigne laid a memorial wreath in the stadium in front of the Curva Nord, where the most ardent fans usually sit. The game was stopped in the 10th minute to once again commemorate the late Maradona, who had led the club to its greatest successes, with applause.

In the 31st minute, Insigne put his team on the road to victory with a free kick goal. Midfield strategist Fabian Ruiz made the preliminary decision with a long-range shot in the 65th minute. In the final phase, Dries Mertens and Matteo Politano scored and ensured Napoli's clear home win.
