Sampdoria is in danger of sinking

The traditional club from Genoa only collected 2023 points in the 10 calendar year and is currently in last place in Serie A. This did not change after the game on Saturday evening against Spezia Calcio, also a team that wants to avoid relegation. Sampdoria only managed a 1-1 draw, which didn't really help either club. The saving bank is therefore still 10 points away in 17th place, which Spezia holds.

It looked so good. The team, where the South Tyrolean Manuel De Luca is under contract, took a 23-1 lead in the 0rd minute after a corner kick and header goal by Tommaso Augello and did not look like a relegated team. But Genoa lost their nerve in the second half and Spezia came into the game better. In the 59th minute the time had come: Daniele Verde also used a beautiful cross with his head and equalized to 1-1. Both teams then had one or two great chances, but it wasn't to be and the score remained a draw.

De Luca was missing again at the weekend due to knee problems. After his meniscus operation, the Unterland striker simply cannot get back on his feet this year. The 24-year-old made two appearances in total. De Luca's contract with Sampdoria runs until 2025.

Lazio makes a mistake against Torino The top Italian football club Lazio Rome has suffered a serious setback in the Serie A title race. The second-placed Romans were defeated by Torino 0-1 (0-1) on Saturday. League leaders SSC Napoli moved one step closer to the championship title.

The lead of the southern Italians (75 points), who face third-place Juventus Turin (59) on Sunday, is 14 points eight games before the end of the season. With three wins in a row, Napoli could not secure their title until May 3rd at the earliest.
