Was that it for Allegri at Juve?

AC Monza clinched the first Serie A win in its club history on September 18th - against record champions Juventus. The Lombards, who were brought into the upper house by Silvio Berlusconi, won 1-0 and thereby exacerbated the crisis of the Turin team, who suffered a very bitter home defeat against Benfica Lisbon in the Champions League on Wednesday. There is a threat of elimination in the premier class and in Serie A the Old Lady is losing touch with the top ranks with just two wins this season. Massimiliano Allegri's days may therefore be numbered.

Atalanta soaring The white-blacks from Udine were at the top of the table after the first game of the evening but they were already gone. Atalanta celebrated a 1-0 win at Jose Mourinho's AS Roma and stormed into first place for the time being. Scalvini led the still unbeaten Bergamasco to victory with a placed diagonal shot in the 35th minute.

In the later evening game, Napoli finally moved to the top of the table with a win in Milan. On Sunday afternoon, Italy's former series champions Juventus suffered an embarrassing defeat at newly promoted Monza. Inter also embarrassed themselves on foreign soil.
