Successful conclusion of the Senior Golf Cup

This year's series of the VSS/Raiffeisen Senior Golf Cup once again thrilled numerous golf fans and also celebrated a few firsts. Never before have so many tournaments been held as this year and for the first time the provincial borders were crossed with the tournament at the Golf Club Dolomiti in Sarnonico. Including the final game, the participants played across nine different golf courses over the course of the series. Also new to the program was the final tournament “VSS/Raiffeisen Senior Golf Champions Trophy”, which was held with its own ranking and in which the winners of the overall ranking were also awarded. The overall victory in the gross team ranking was won by GC Quellenhof (1418 points) for the third time in a row. Second place went to the Eppan-Carezza Golf Club (1217 points) and third place in the gross ranking went to the Passeier Meran Golf Club (1153 points). Paul Kröll from the Golf Club Pustertal took overall victory in the gross ranking with 194 points. Werner Spitaler from the Eppan-Carezza Golf Club came in second with 191 points and Christian Amort from the Quellenhof Golf Club took third place with 187 points. In the women's category, Manuela Mahlknecht from the Quellenhof Golf Club secured the highest podium spot with an impressive 190 points. With 20 points less, Helga Fink Dorfer came in second and Barbara Oberbacher from the Gardena Golf Club took third place in the overall ranking with 122 points. VSS managing director Daniel Hofer, the mayor of the municipality of Deutschnofen Bernhard Daum and the speaker for Petersberg Irmgard Brunner presented the medals and trophies to the deserving winners. A joint thank you was sent to VSS coordinator Paul Fiwickeler for the good implementation of the VSS/Raiffeisen Senior Golf Cup and for his commitment to golf in South Tyrol.
