Alexander Zadra trains in Mexico

This was made possible by the former Mexican youth national coach Israel Briones Vazquez, who has shaped several great champions in Mexico. Because of love he changed his residence to Trentino, more precisely to Spiazzo where he lives with his wife and children.

“The fact that Israel has come to our region is great luck for our taekwondokas,” explains FITA-CONI delegate Markus Zadra. “In addition to having unquestionable experience in Taekwondo, he is well-liked by all athletes in the region and is currently serving as Regional Commissioner for Competition.

It was Israel Briones Vazquez who immediately recognized Alexander Zadra's enormous potential. In 2016 Alexander won the European Club Championships, in 2018 he took part in the qualification for the Youth Olympic Games and the World Championships with the national team and in 2019 he won a total of three World Cups in addition to several second and third places and that is not a small number.

There are several good athletes in the U-15 and U-18 youth classes, but when they get into the general women's and men's classes, where you are eligible to compete from the age of 17, the ranks thin out. When they reach this point, many people drop out or reduce their effort or effort when they have to compete with the top international athletes from 204 nations. There are nations like Russia, China and Turkey, just to name a few, that invest incredible sums of money to win Olympic medals. This is the point where the wheat is separated from the chaff and this is also the point where points for the Olympic ranking have to be earned for the first time.

Israel Briones Vazquez brought the young Kurtatscher to Mexico for preparation, where he trained with the strong Mexican squad athletes.
