“Thanksgiving Day” at Karate Mühlbach

“Success is not luck, but the result of blood, sweat and tears,” says one song. That's exactly how the belt test at Karate Mühlbach was experienced the day before yesterday: it is the reward of hard work in training, willingness to learn and lots and lots of heart.

The energetic effort and exemplary seriousness with which the children, young people and adults took the belt test was just as impressive as the high quality in the execution of the techniques, the partner exercises, the accuracy and expression in the kata as well as the creativity in the Kumite.

“The children, young people and adults are now deservedly wearing their new belt. “They deserve it through their commitment and their grit, which they have demonstrated throughout the season,” said coach Martin Pezzei. The 45 children (16 girls and 29 boys) laid a good foundation this season that will be built upon in the coming season.

A rapid development

The 22 young people (14 girls and 8 boys) have had a great season and have developed far better than was expected in September - they have become an important pillar of Karate Mühlbach and promise a new chapter in this karate in the coming season -writing school. The 27 adults (10 women and 17 men) become increasingly darker as they look at the belts they wear, presenting a special challenge for the coaching team.

“Success is not luck, but rather something that can be planned,” says coach Pezzei, who adds: “Success does not happen on its own, but is the result of work, of falling down and getting up again, of a strenuous journey. But the higher you go, the more fulfilling and enriching the outlook is - and our athletes notice this, as they not only mature technically through the martial art of karate, but also develop as personalities in an impressive way.”
