Performance at the highest level on Lake Kaltern by Dania Jasaragic, gold medalist at the Youth Olympic Games in Korea (blue vest).

International Taekwondo competition at Lake Kaltern

In a fantastic setting, directly on Lake Kaltern, spectacular international taekwondo fights took place again after three years at the Gretl am See lido. In the last Corona years, only events in the shape competition were allowed.

The absolute highlight of this year's international event was the gold medalist from the Youth Olympic Games in Korea, Dania Jasaragic, in her fight against the Austrian champion Alma Buljubasic. The Olympic champion confidently prevailed against her opponent. The fight was at the highest level. Both exceptional athletes are looked after by the Tyrolean youth national coach Gerhard Huber and the top international athlete Christina Schönegger from the Innsbruck Performance Center. Schönegger coached Dania Jasaragic to the title at the Youth Olympics in Korea.

There was a huge surprise in the best men's fight of the day.
Tobias Santer from ASV Zadra fighting/rothoblaas was just ahead in terms of points in the weight class - 69 kg against fifth place in the Junior European Championships, Felix Zehntner. It should be mentioned that Felix Zehntner was recently tied on points with his opponent at the European Championship quarter-final fight in Tallinn (Estonia) and only narrowly lost the medal.

In total, several international fights took place. From a South Tyrolean perspective, the very good performances of Gabriele Cera, bronze medal at the Italian Championships and silver medal at the European Masters Games in Finland, as well as those of Thomas Mittermair, vi-time Italian red belt champion, are also highlighted.
