The 11-year-old Emma Peintner (Under 14, yellow and orange belts) also became Italian champion. Laura Peintner (Cadetti, yellow and orange belts) and Aron Leitner (Cadetti, green and blue belts) won silver. In the Kumite (duel) three athletes from Karate Mühlbach became Italian champions: Julian Vaja (Juniores, +76kg), Fabian Pezzei (Juniores, -76kg) and Antonio Zaccari (Under 21, -84kg); Laura Peintner (Cadetti, -54kg) and Florian Filehner (Juniores, -68kg) won bronze. “To see all the athletes on the podium without exception is an indescribable joy, but above all a merit! They have earned this reward and can be proud of their title and their medals,” said coach Martin Pezzei and added: “All of these achievements would not have been possible without our support team, which is why a piece of every medal belongs to them. “ This Italian championship marked the end of an impressive competition season: Karate Mühlbach took part in a total of seven national and four interregional tournaments and continuously improved over the course of the season. “We want to build on the level we have reached and continue to work on it – we look forward with great confidence and many new goals,” said Pezzei.
