Difficult training conditions in Corona times The Italian Cup is one of the highlights of every karate season. Anyone who has tried to develop themselves further in a sporting sense can imagine how challenging the preparation was during this difficult time. Since the training sessions are only possible online, the coaching duo primarily used the Christmas holidays to apply the necessary fine-tuning to the 38 athletes from Karate Mühlbach who took part in this national competition. “The children train once a week, the young people and adults train twice a week. “In addition, we invested over three hours of individual online training every day during the holidays in preparation for this national tournament,” said the coaching duo. The effort has paid off. It is primarily the athletes' exemplary training diligence, their willingness to learn, their commitment and their grit that have brought about this fruit. Celina Volgger wins double gold Of the athletes who took part in the Kata discipline, the following people achieved a podium finish: Emilia Bruni, Celina Volgger and Patrick Pistocchi achieved gold in their respective categories; Silver went to Selina Peintner, Laura Schönegger, Veronika Zimmerhofer, Kevin Pistocchi and Christian Schönegger; The bronze medal was achieved by Frida Schweiger, Mia Lechner, Paula Schönegger, Renate Oberleiter, Karin Pezzei, Jonas Peintner and Aron Leitner.
