In the final, the 55-year-old was able to defeat his opponent, the Russian Andrei Korovnikov, who was eight years his junior, with 6:4 points. In the U-18 youth class +68, Stefanie Kerschbamer was unable to prevail in the qualifying matches against the Spanish Desiree Rivadulla Lorenzo and was eliminated, while the Spaniard came third. Same fate for 15-year-old Julia Zelger in the U-18 youth class -49 kg, who narrowly had to give way to the Greek Ioanna Maria Chouto in the qualifying matches with 17:18. As expected, Russia won the team ranking ahead of Turkey, who was also very strong. Italy, on the other hand, came in an incredible third place overall with four gold medals from Vito Dell' Aquila Men -58 kg, who has already qualified for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, World Champion Simone Alessio Men -80 kg, Markus Zadra Master +80 kg and the U -18 athletes -63 kg Falco Antonio and the bronze medal of Gerrone Antonio in the U-18 youth class -78 kg.
