South Tyrolean athletes are at the forefront in Laces

Filip Schenk from AVS Val Gardena showed an excellent individual performance. He managed all 14 bouldering problems and won the U16 boys category ahead of Lukas Moser (AVS Meran) and David Piccolruaz (AS Gherdeina). Among the young women of the same age, Jana Heinz from Merano won ahead of Alessandra Zanetti (Arcoclimbing) and Nora Rainer (AVS Bozen).

Among the young women who were two years older, the victory went to Trentino, namely Martina Zanetti. The climber from Arcoclimbing won ahead of Lisa Schenk (AVS Brixen) and Katrin Mair (AVS Bruneck). Among men of the same age, Lorenzo Sinibaldi came out on top ahead of Janluca Kostner (both AS Gherdeina) and David Spath (AVS Meran).

Francesco Profico from CAI Bozen won the U19 age group ahead of Florian Mutschlechner from Bruneck and Ivan Todesco from Eppan. Among the young women, Anna Bacher (AVS Passeier) held her own ahead of Andrea Messner from Brixen and Silvia Miori (Arcoclimbing).

On Sunday the even younger climbers showed off their climbing skills. First place for the U10 girls went to Alessia Mabboni (Arcoclimbing) ahead of Maja Gritsch (Brunico) and Viktoria Psenner (AVS St. Pauls). Hannes Grasl showed an impressive performance for the boys. He was the only one to achieve 12 tops. Jonathan Pallhuber (AVS Bruneck) came second and Andreas Cagol from AVS St. Pauls came third.

Mara Plaickner (AVS Brixen) was able to hold her own in the category with the most participants, the U12 girls. She managed 13 tops in the first attempt. Her pursuers managed just as many tops and zone holds, but it took them several attempts. Jana Gemassmer from Meran came second, Federica Mabboni (Arcoclimbing) came third.

The outstanding athlete among the boys was Elias Sanin (AVS Meran), who was the only one to complete all the boulders, followed by his teammates Jonathan Kiem and Jan Schenk (all AVS Meran). Lisa Moser (AVS Meran) won ahead of Johanna Messner (AVS Brixen). Both climbed 14 blocks to the top in an impressive manner. Jana Messner came third with 13 tops. In the boys' category, Felix Kiem (AVS Meran) clearly won ahead of Christoph Pfitscher (AVS Passeier) and Johannes Egger (AVS Bruneck).

The entry-level category is for those athletes who are taking part in a competition for the first time. The boys' winner was Matthias Rainer (AVS St. Pauls) ahead of Jonas Pichler (AVS Martell) and Daniel Engel (AVS St. Pauls). In the girls' category, Maria Laimer (AVS Meran) won ahead of Lia Plagg (AVS Brixen) and Tessa Profaiser (CAI Bozen).

The next Junior Cup competition will take place on April 12th and 13th in the speed climbing discipline “Speed” in the Salewa climbing hall in Bolzano.
