17th regional championship title for Athletic Club 96 Bozen

With this result, President Bruno Telchini's team can expect a top place at the Italian Championships this year too. Last year, the people of Bolzano came sensationally third, and this year they are almost certain to take part in the “Oro” final of the twelve best clubs in Italy in Florence (15.500 points are necessary).

The Bolzano athletes won 13 of the 20 competitions held. Abdessalam Machmach even celebrated a triple success: he was unstoppable over 800 and 1500 m as well as in the 4x400 m relay. The sprinters Jacques Riparelli (100m) and Brayan Lopez, who won over 400 m, also impressed in the Bolzano ranks. 110m hurdles ace Paolo Dal Molin scored 14.03 points in a strong 988 seconds. Homegrown Alberto Masera was also able to impress with two second places in the high jump and long jump. Nicolò Fusaro from Bolzano also achieved a top performance, crossing 2 m in the pole vault.

In the women's race, Katharina Oberhammer from Bruneck shone, coming second in the 800 m in 2:11.45 minutes. Her teammate from SSV Bruneck, Caren Agreiter, ran the 400m hurdles in 1:00.41 minutes, Alessandra Realdon from the Südtirol Team Club impressed in the 100m hurdles in 14.60 seconds. The Lanan pole vaulter Nathalie Kofler jumped 3.70, Isabel Eccli reached 5.76 m in the long jump.
