35th VSS/RVD city and village running series in Lagundo completed

There were nine tour stops this year, one more than in previous years, in the VSS/RVD city and village running series. Four of the women's races were won by Johanna von Dellemann, and the Überetscher, who competes for the South Tyrolean running club, achieved the final victory at the final in Lagundo. Von Dellemann, who reached the finish in 12:20 minutes, was eleven seconds ahead of her long-term rival Petra Pircher from ASC Laas. Third-placed Karin Innerebner (South Tyrolean running club) ended up 50 seconds behind Überetscher.

In the men's race it looked like a victory for Georg Brunner for a long time. The Pusterer dominated the first two of three rounds, but in the end Gianmarco Bazzoni from Athletic Club 96 shined from the top step of the podium. With an impressive final lap, Bazzoni, who had always come within a hair's breadth of winning in the last races, secured the triumph in Lagundo. In the end, in 15:48 minutes, he was six seconds ahead of Brunner and over a minute ahead of third-placed Maurizio Giusti from Laas.

A total of 400 runners took part in the final in Lagundo. In the team ranking, ASC Laas was clearly ahead in both the daily and final rankings after nine races. The athletes from Vinschgau collected over 26.000 points throughout the entire running series this year. Including the trial category, over 900 runners from all parts of the country and age groups took part in the popular VSS running series.
