Achmüller 38th at the Boston Marathon

Hermann Achmüller finished 38th in his first Boston Marathon. The 40-year-old from Palatinate finished fifth in his age group in 2:24.39 hours. The Kenyan Geoffrey Mutai won the most traditional marathon (since 1897) in 2:03.02. However, due to the steep downhill gradient, this time does not count as a world record. Haile Gebrselassie holds this with 2:03.59.
